The question of health care seems to be on the lips of both people who consider themselves to be either politically Conservative, Middle of the Road or Liberal. What does not to ever come up in the media or in the political debates that took place for months in Washington was the fact that health insurance companies have exemptions to antitrust laws. This exemption allows all them to have free range on different states and regions of the country. No the Obama plan does no address this issue. It is a well intentioned plan but in the end it will just increase costs for everyday people like you and me. All it does do is increase regulations which will be pasted on to the consumer. Now when regulations comes almost every company will try to pass the cost onto the consumer.
Now giving people’s healthcare is not the wrong thing at all. It is important to give people the healthcare that they need when they need it. But allowing health insurers to be exempt from antitrust laws, we are can never really solve the problems of healthcare within the United States. We are just allowing for a corrupt system to evolve to an even more corrupt system.
